REDMOND, Wash. /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Respondus Inc. (www.respondus.com), a leading developer of authoring tools for e-learning, announces the release of StudyMate 1.0. StudyMate lets instructors create nine Flash-based games and learning activities using three simple templates. The activities can be used with any web server or published directly to leading course management systems, including Blackboard and WebCT.
Flash activities are easily authored in StudyMate and existing materials can be imported from MS Word, the IMS QTI standard, and other formats. An instructor who adopts a participating textbook from publishers such as Thomson Higher Education or Pearson Education can additionally obtain ready-to-use assessment content through the Respondus Test Bank Network (http://www.respondus.com/testbank).
"StudyMate allows instructors to create high-quality, interactive exercises for students, yet it requires no knowledge of HTML or Flash programming," says David Smetters, president of Respondus. "Based on feedback from beta participants at nearly 1,000 colleges, we expect StudyMate to have a major impact on how faculty create online content for their courses."
A 30-day free trial of StudyMate 1.0 is available from the Respondus web site (www.respondus.com). Demonstration movies, screenshots, and sample Flash objects created with StudyMate 1.0 may also be viewed at the Respondus web site.
Pricing of a single-user license of StudyMate 1.0 is $139; the price is $79 for individuals at not-for-profit educational institutions. Substantial discounts are available for campus-wide licensing of StudyMate 1.0.
