PRESS RELEASE
RICHMOND, VA -- First Light Publishing is heeding the old adage that laughter is the best medicine. Throughout the month of November, First Light Publishing will be donating copies of its inaugural release, 'Don't Play With Your Food!' to Children's Hospital of Richmond.
Children's Hospital is a specialty pediatric facility with the mission of providing quality health care (and financial assistance when needed) to area children. The hospital was founded in 1917 and has grown to serve nearly 7,500 children each year through its branches in Richmond, Glen Allen, Midlothian, and Fredericksburg. Children's Hospital relies extensively on community support to fund its many programs including its community outreach education programs, its Transitional Care Unit (which provides children with specialized long-term care), and its Pediatric Rehabilitation Fellowship Program (one of the first in the nation to be fully accredited.)
First Light Publishing president, Brian Rock, is pleased to offer his company's support to this fine health care facility. "They're a great organization, serving a great cause," notes Brian. "We hope that the humor in Don't Play With Your Food! can in some small way help in the healing process that they so expertly administer."
The company will donate one copy of "Don't Play With Your Food!" to Children's Hospital for every ten copies that it sells at area Barnes and Noble stores or online at bn.com throughout the month of November. The books will then be signed and delivered in person by the author and illustrator who will do a special reading for the children before Christmas.
About the Book:
Don't Play With Your Food! is a "Toy Story" for food. Each page is a self-contained story/poem that lets food get off the plate and dance around a little. If you've ever wondered what food does behind closed cupboard doors, this book gives the answers!
