OAK BROOK, Ill. -- Graphic Arts Monthly (GAM), a Reed Business Information magazine, has named Mark Vruno as senior editor. Vruno joins editorial director Roger Ynostroza; fellow senior editor Lisa Cross; Noel Jeffrey, western regional editor; Debora Toth, project editor; Joann Whitcher, eastern regional editor; and columnists Michael Ducey, Bill Farquharson, Henry Freedman, Theodore Lustig and Don Piontek.

Vruno, a 15-year print-industry veteran, previously had served as a contributing editor to GAM, Converting, Digital Design & Production, High Volume Printing and Pre magazines.

"Mark brings an ideal blend of business-to-business communication and industry-specific experience to our publication," said Bill Esler, GAM's new editor in chief.

"The timing couldn't be better," Esler added, because GAM is refocusing its content on the technology-related topics that surveyed readers say they want to read."

"We feel strongly that GAM's new editorial direction -- anchored by the recent additions of Bill Esler and, now, Mark Vruno -- demonstrates our commitment to the U.S. printing market," said Phil Saran, publisher of Graphic Arts Monthly.

Saran pointed out that GAM's new and improved editorial team represents more than 100 years of combined print-related experience, led by well-respected editorial director Roger Ynostroza.
