Percentage wise, homes valued at a million dollars or higher represent the fastest growing segment in the housing market, with approximately 35,000 homes priced in excess of $1 million sold in 2004. And just who owns these modern day palaces? Unique Homes and The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing recently conducted a survey which revealed 73% of homeowners who own at least one home valued at $2.5 million or above are under the age of 55 and are mostly self-made millionaires.
