ATLANTA, Ga. -- M2SYS Technology, an award-winning fingerprint biometrics research and development firm, announced today that RPGSi Business Solutions, a provider of effective and high quality technology and information systems to Latin America, has integrated M2SYS' Bio-Plugin(TM) Appserver fingerprint software into its HealthGest(TM) healthcare software. RPGSi will be distributing the fingerprint recognition solution with M2SYS' M2-S(TM) optical fingerprint reader.

HealthGest(TM), a module of the TopSaude(TM) strategic e-health information system, supports the main activities of clinics in collaborative working environments and maintains the actions of public and private ambulatory health care units. With the integration of Bio-Plugin(TM) Appserver, an enterprise-ready, client/server fingerprint biometrics system that eliminates the development effort associated with a low-level fingerprint SDK, the identification of patients in the hospital will be more safe and efficient.

Luis Fernandes, Partner of RPGSi commented, "Most developing nations do not have a reliable method of identifying patients that are in need of healthcare services. Biometrics solves this problem and reduces the health risks to patients from misidentification. Furthermore, the M2SYS Bio-Plugin(TM) fingerprint software has helped us to address the challenge of creating a single Electronic Health Record to identify patients. By the end of this year, we expect to enroll and validate 30-percent of patients within our first community of 100,000 people," he stated.

"Proper identification of patients in developing countries is critical to provide quality healthcare. The addition of our Bio-Plugin(TM) software solution will give RPGSi a strong competitive advantage while providing their customers with the sophisticated identity protection that they require," stated Michael Trader, President of M2SYS Technology. "With this partnership, M2SYS has strengthened its position as a leading provider of fingerprint technology to the healthcare industry," he added.
